Winter 2026

As we begin 2026, I want to take a moment to personally thank each of you for your continued commitment, energy, and belief in what we are building together. I could not be more proud of the positive impact Good People is making on our industry—and that impact is a direct result of this team.

Fall 2025 Edition

We’re proud to announce the official launch of the Good People Foundation! Created to support the senior living industry, our Foundation is especially focused on uplifting nonprofit communities and advancing causes that directly benefit older adults.

December 2023

Happy holidays to you and the ones you love. This special time of year is a perfect period to reflect on the gifts we have received in our lives for all of 2023, not just over the last weeks of the year. At Good People. we count all of you as gifts as we continue to bring friends in the aging services space together to create disruption that spurs innovation and improves care for older adults.

November 2023

Although Jack York and I are 17 years apart in age, we have many things in common, including a love for the field of senior living! We were both eager to own our ages at the recent LeadingAge Annual Conference in Chicago, along with hundreds of other attendees who participated in the Art Against Ageism photo booth.

October 2023

Still in the after glow of last month’s retreat, I am proud of our efforts to bring actors in the senior living space together for the betterment of their work and the care and well-being of residents. It is, quite frankly, invigorating.Last month in Ouray, we saw some of the brightest minds in the industry gather to share what motivates them and their work.

September 2023

As we approach the Fall Retreat this week, I feel a senses of gratitude and wonder at the goodness of the community of people who have become Good People. I couldn’t be more excited about the lineup of speakers we have, as well as the team-building activities planned for each day.

August 2023

At our Fall Retreat in Ouray, Colo., from Sept. 26 to 29, we will be focusing on innovations and partnerships that will shape the future of senior living. In addition to sessions with speakers who are visionaries and industry leaders, our Transition Tank program will feature early and emerging growth companies that are serving older adult markets.

July 2023

It’s hard to believe that August is almost here. That means that our Fall Retreat is just around the corner, and that, once again, we will get to experience the magic of Ouray as Good People gather to get to know one another via next-level recreation, knowledge sharing, and networking.

June 2023

This is my least favorite time of year for sports watching. Baseball is slow, and when I take “the Brady bunch” to a game, I have a hard time keeping them interested in watching it for more than four innings. So I end up spending my time explaining to them not only how skilled the players are, but also how it takes a team and specialized experts to make it happen.

May 2023

Listening to our Good People partners converse at our spring retreat — whether it was during the roundtable discussions, team-building exercises, or social events — made me wish that every senior living resident, staff member, prospect, or family member could be there with us.

April 2023

Earlier this month, I married the love of my life. Ali and I traveled to Portugal, and under the Algarve sun, we said our vows and celebrated. I feel so fortunate to have found my best friend and my partner for life. I knew almost from the minute I met Ali that she was the one, and starting our life together has begun an exciting adventure.

March 2023

More than ever, people are talking about the future of senior living. The pandemic changed everything and made the entire industry rethink how communities are designed and renovated and how older adults want to live. Everyone has ideas, hopes, and expectations, but no one has a crystal ball.

February 2023

Trust and transparency are issues that took center stage during the pandemic. We realized how important these were, not only to quality of care for our residents but also to staff satisfaction and retention, as well as our ability to work as a team to enact widespread and lasting change.

January 2023

The significance of partnerships and relationships is more apparent than ever as we move into 2023. There are many challenges and opportunities ahead of us, but we can only make limited (if any) progress if we function in silos. It’s when we connect with others who share our vision, passions, and values that we make real progress.

December 2022

I am so proud to have spent time with you this year strategizing, sharing ideas and innovations, and working together to ensure the best possible quality of life for older adults. And, not insignificantly, we have had a lot of fun and enjoyed great friendships along the way.

November 2022

One thing I consistently hear from our Good People partners is how fortunate they feel to be involved in senior living and having the opportunity to contribute positively to the lives of older adults. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I can’t help but reflect on how grateful I am for the work that #TeamGoodPeople do and their passion and commitment.
